Sustainable and cruelty free fabrics

Here at Michelle’s Armoire, we aren’t just all about looking good and feeling great, but also sourcing materials that are environmentally friendly and cruelty free as possible. Let’s explore some of the fantastic fabrics we aim to offer regularly,

Bamboo - Bras and panties made from bamboo are naturally hypo-allergenic, odor resistant, thermo-regulating and silky smooth to create an extremely luxurious feel against the skin. Bamboo is one of the fastest growing grasses on the planet making it completely renewable resource that is not only economical, but creates less environmental impact than most other fibers that are used for making viscose. Ideal for any one that has had surgery of any kind or skin sensitivity's, not only for its antibacterial properties but for the softness against the skin.

Here at Michelle's Armoire, we only use bamboo jersey in all of our custom made gussets and kits because you deserve the very best!

Ahimsa silk - This is very close to my heart, this day and age and with all our resources, there is no need for any creature to suffer for our comfort.

Ahimsa silk is a method of non-violent silk breeding and harvesting. Wild silk moths are bred, rather than the domestic variety. It allows the completion of the metamorphosis of the silkworm to its moth stage, where most silk harvesting requires the silkworms to be killed in their cocoon stage. No animals suffer or die for the silk to be produced, making it a favorable alternative to normal silk.

For majority of commercial silk, the worms are killed as soon as they make the cocoon, so the thread is unraveled in one piece. With Ahimsa, the moth is allowed to hatch naturally. The cocoon is then collected and processed. It is more expensive and labor intensive, but well worth it.

We do not keep large stock numbers on any of our laces, and sometimes we will keep a lace exclusively for our custom orders as there are only small runs. Your lingerie is so much more personalized and very much limited edition. It also gives you the chance to always see fresh stock and less environmental impact on the earth. If you see something you like its best to buy straight away, because once it has gone it is highly unlikely we will stock it again.

If there are any other fabrics that you would like to see us stock please message us, we would love to hear from you.
